September Coffee of the Month

We're very excited to share August's Coffee of the Month from Kenya Sasini - the Sasini Estate compromises of several farms and crops, benefitting from many environmental factors that ensure top speciality beans.

Being close to the equator with substantial, short rain seasons provides year round quality coffee. Dedicated to innovative processing, the estate’s partners are marked out for excellence and help empower employees with several social initiatives.

Tasting notes: A natural process creates a sweet and juicy profile, with notes of stone fruit, blueberry and fudge.

Brew Guide:

  1. Boil kettle and, as it warms up, grind 18-20g Kenya Sasini coffee, depending on your basket size. Grind a little coarser than espresso.
  2. Remove the basket from the Moka Pot and add the ground coffee, tapping the side to distribute evenly throughout the basket. Level coffee dose with the top of the basket, without tamping.
  3. Fill the base of the Moka Pot with boiling water, ensuring the water does not go above the safety valve.
  4. Place the basket in the Moka Pot and screw on the top section, with the spout/lid open.
  5. Place Moka Pot on the stove, set on the lowest heat setting possible.
  6. Wait for the coffee to brew and once it begins to bubble remove the Moka Pot from the heat by the handle and run the base under cold water to slow down the brewing process and ensure the coffee isn’t burnt.
  7. Decant coffee and enjoy!
