BREW GUIDE
Moka Pot
What kind of coffee will I get?
Strong espresso.
A Moka pot is ideal for making a strong espresso. You’ll get a short drink but add extra hot water at the end if you prefer an Americano-style coffee. Because it uses pressure, a Moka Pot coffee is rich, flavourful and strong-bodied. Try the Small Batch Throwback Espresso blend for a robust and vibrant cup.
How much coffee will I need?
20–22g.
This will depend on the size of your Moka Pot. For a 6-cup pot. You’ll want 20–22g of coffee, and half that for a 3-cup.
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Fill the bottom of the chamber of your Moka pot with cold water. Be careful not to overfill it.
Step 2
Insert the metal filter and add your ground coffee — don’t compress it.
Step 3
Screw the top section of the Moka pot onto the bottom chamber, making sure it’s secure.
Step 4
Place your Moka pot on the stove and heat, keeping the heat low. If you turn the temperature up too high, the water will start to boil and you can over-extract the coffee
Step 5
Take the pot off the heat once you hear the water start to gurgle, but before it starts bubbling. Now the brewed coffee should be starting to fill the upper chamber.
Step 6
Give the brewed coffee a gentle stir before pouring it into cups.
